Sunday December 18th

Christmas time again!
This years tinsel run was from Hinton St George village hall. After a muddy 6 mile cross country run we were treated to bacon baps and other festive fare.
Great morning.

In a first for the club Clive Harwood represented CRC and GB in the international cross country events in Scotland. Clive was first over 60 and 12th overall. A really great performance, see the newsletter for more details.

Sunday November 27th.
CRC winter handicap race was once again based at Hinton St. George village hall with a good turn out of 24 runners.

Against all odds yours truly managed to win...

Is this the face of a man who has given his all?
Now when I read the newsletter report I thought Simon was a bit harsh toward me! As I understand it I was handicapped such that there was no chance at all of me winning!  But, this slightly overweight OAP managed to have a really great run and knock minutes off Simons predicted pace.
Having competed in all but one of the 50 or so handicap races you can't say I don't have form....
Also if I had thought for one moment that I would win I would have gone to Waitrose for the wine, not Lidl!!
Anyway it was a lovely sunny morning, no trace of the snow we had this time last year and the event was rounded off with hot drinks, bacon butties and cakes. Wonderful.
Well done Simon you are getting really good at this handicapping game.

List title

Crewkerne Somerset

Crewkerne is a small market town in South Somerset which is surrounded by some of the most scenic countryside in Britain. There are also a number of villages situated around Crewkerne and close enough to create a large catchment area for members.  Crewkerne Running Club members are very privileged to have access to this beautiful area via a vast network of public footpaths and quiet country lanes for our training runs.

We currently have over 100 paid up members who enjoy club runs up to three times a week and various social events throughout the year.

The club organises four major events throughout the year which members can run in or help with the organisation.

Anyone who may be interested in joining the club is very welcome to come along and run with us and take part in events before joining with no pressure. Thursday night is traditionally 'beginers night' which should be a relaxed gentle run. We want potential members to know exactly what we do and how we do it.
If you wish to join please complete the application form on the 'Join Us' page.
